Fatal crash at Freemans Waterhole claims life of 29-year old man

**FREEMANS WATERHOLE, NSW** — A 29-year-old man died Friday evening following a two-vehicle collision in New South Wales’ Hunter Region.

Emergency services responded to Freemans Drive in Freemans Waterhole, located west of Lake Macquarie, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday following reports of a head-on crash involving a silver Audi hatchback and a blue Volkswagen Amarok four-wheel drive.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver and sole occupant of the Audi at the scene, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The two occupants of the Volkswagen—a 53-year-old female driver and a 54-year-old male passenger—were treated by paramedics and transported to John Hunter Hospital. Both remain in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene, and specialist forensic police conducted an examination of the wreckage and the surrounding area.

An investigation is underway, and NSW Police are urging witnesses, or anyone traveling through the area at the time, to come forward with information, dashcam footage, or mobile phone recordings. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact Belmont Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
