Family Murder-Suicide Shocks New Jersey Neighborhood

On March 10, 2026, a tragic incident unfolded in Berkeley Township, New Jersey, where a man killed his wife and her parents before committing suicide. The Berkeley Township Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at a Fairwood Drive home early in the morning. Upon arrival, they witnessed a man entering the house, followed by more gunshots. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Vaughn Stewart, had fatally shot the homeowners, Allan Russell, 61, and Michelle Russell, 60, the parents of his wife. He then chased his wife, Deonna Stewart, 38, and shot her dead about 50 yards from the house. Vaughn Stewart later ended his life inside the home. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at Community Medical Center. Three young children found unharmed in the house were also part of the tragic equation.
