Former Prime Minister of Grenada Keith Mitchell tied the knot with Dr. Ophelia Wells, a policy consultant and economist, on December 27, 2025. The private ceremony took place near Pigeon Island in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia. At 79, Mitchell is the longest-serving prime minister in Grenadian history. This is the second marriage for both him and Wells. Mitchell led the New National Party from 1989 until 2024, and served as Prime Minister from 1995 to 2008 and again from 2013 to 2022. He was defeated in the June 2022 election. Dr. Wells was previously married to Dennis Cornwall, the current Minister of Finance in Grenada. Saint Lucia, chosen by the couple for their wedding, is recognized as the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination.
