Wendell Eversley is calling on the Government to answer several questions surrounding an alleged incident involving an unidentified minister at a United States port of entry.
In a video posted to Facebook, Eversley specifically called on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Homeland Security to address the matter.
Eversley said there are three ministers attached to the Ministry of Housing and questioned which minister, if any, was questioned by customs and border officials upon arriving in the United States.
He asked whether the alleged trip was undertaken for official state business or for private business.
Eversley also questioned whether the minister was taken into a room at the port of entry and whether anyone from the Trinidad and Tobago Government or one of the country’s diplomatic missions in the United States intervened on the minister’s behalf.
He further alleged that the minister was allowed to spend the night before being placed on a plane back to Trinidad and Tobago the following day.
Eversley questioned where the minister allegedly spent the night and, if the trip had been for official state business, whether that business was ever completed.
He also raised a separate allegation concerning a close associate of the same unidentified minister, claiming that the person’s United States visa had been revoked.
Eversley called on the Prime Minister and Minister of Homeland Security to provide answers to the questions he raised.
He did not identify the minister or the associate in the video.
The allegations surrounding the reported incident and the alleged visa revocation have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation establishing that the events occurred as described has been presented.
