ETPL 2026: Mitchell Santner’s five-wicket haul powers Edinburgh Castle Rockers to win over Dublin Guardians

**Edinburgh Castle Rockers Defeat Dublin Guardians in ETPL Match Eight**

*Voorburg, Netherlands – 31 August 2026* – In the eighth match of the 2026 European T20 Premier League (ETPL) at Sportpark Westvliet, the Edinburgh Castle Rockers secured a four‑wicket victory over the Dublin Guardians.

Dublin won the toss and elected to bat first. The Guardians were bowled out for 109 runs in 18 overs, with Edinburgh’s bowlers restricting scoring opportunities throughout the innings. New Zealand all‑rounder Mitchell Santner, who captained the Rockers, delivered a standout performance, taking five wickets for 16 runs in his four‑over spell. His dismissals included Daryl Mitchell, Benjamin Calitz, George Dockrell, James Vince and Matt Hollard, and he maintained an economy rate of four runs per over.

James Vince was the highest‑scoring batsman for Dublin, contributing 40 runs off 30 balls with five fours and a six before being dismissed. Sanjay Krishnamurthy added 24 runs from 24 balls, while Matt Hollard contributed nine runs toward the end of the innings. The Guardians were unable to build lasting partnerships, leading to regular wicket losses.

Edinburgh’s supporting bowlers also contributed to the defensive effort. Trent Boult claimed two wickets, and Tom Curran, Jack Jarvis and JJ Smuts each took one wicket.

Chasing a target of 110, the Rockers reached 110 for six in 13.4 overs, winning the match with 38 balls remaining. The victory was achieved despite losing six wickets, as the team managed the required run rate effectively.

The result improves Edinburgh Castle Rockers’ standing in the early phase of the ETPL season, while the Dublin Guardians continue to search for their first win in the tournament. The match details were released by the ETPL organizing committee.
