Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met with Turkey’s new ambassador to Tallinn, Havva Yonca Gündüz Özçeri, on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen the friendship and deepen cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, Tsahkna highlighted the Turkish Air Force’s contribution to Baltic security, noting that aircraft from the Amari Air Base have supported the defense of Estonia and its Baltic neighbours. He also referenced a recent post on the social‑media platform X, in which he thanked Turkey for its assistance. The discussion came as Estonia celebrated the 35th anniversary of the re‑establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey last week. Tsahkna expressed his pleasure at meeting Özçeri and emphasized the importance of continuing to build on the historic ties between the two nations.
