Fabien Turns Insults Into Motivation: 37 Years Drug-Free

Trinidad and Tobago entertainer and media personality Errol Fabien is proving that strength can come from struggle. In a recent video, Fabien addressed those who call him names like “crackhead,” “addict,” or “spranger.” Instead of taking offense, he explained that the words remind him of how far he has come.

> “You cheer me on. You remind me where I come from. You remind me how powerful my recovery is. Thirty-seven years, five months and counting,” he said.

For Fabien, these labels no longer carry shame. Instead, they serve as fuel to keep him grounded in his recovery.

> “These reminders do nothing else but solidify where I am and make me commit more and more to remaining drug free. So to the folks who like to call me crackhead and spranger—don’t stop. You know, it does a lot for me.”

A Battle With Addiction

Fabien has been open about his struggles with crack cocaine, describing the devastating toll it once took on his life. In the depths of his addiction, he lost nearly everything—family, trust, and dignity.

One of the most painful memories he recalls is selling his daughter’s earrings to fuel his habit. That breaking point forced him to confront the true cost of his addiction and pushed him to begin the journey toward change.

The Road to Recovery

Through determination and support, Fabien fought his way back. Now, more than 37 years drug-free, he has turned his past into testimony. His recovery is not only a personal triumph but also an inspiration for others facing similar battles.

From Stigma to Strength

By transforming negativity into motivation, Fabien challenges the stigma surrounding addiction. His story shows that resilience and honesty can turn even the darkest chapters into a message of hope.

Today, he stands as living proof that recovery is possible, no matter how far someone has fallen.
