Heirs of a Jewish art dealer have initiated two separate lawsuits in California to recover masterpieces allegedly looted or sold under duress during the Nazi era. The legal actions target artworks that were reportedly seized by Hermann Goring.
The claims involve institutions in Pasadena and the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. Both organizations maintain that they hold legal title to the works in their respective collections and contest the allegations of illicit acquisition.
