The Empresa de Produção de Eletricidade de Cabo Verde (EPEC) has issued a formal warning regarding potential power outages on the island of Fogo. The disruptions are expected to occur as the company conducts operational tests at the São Filipe power plant.
According to the utility provider, maintenance work at the facility has reached its final phase. The upcoming activities include functional testing of equipment, as well as the calibration and adjustment of various parameters and systems required before the plant can officially enter service.
EPEC stated that these technical procedures may lead to partial interruptions in the electricity supply across the island. The company has advised residents and businesses to prepare for potential service fluctuations while these essential system upgrades are finalized.
