Nuno Pinhel, a Portuguese entrepreneur with professional experience in both Brazil and Portugal, has launched a new advertising agency named VRTX. The agency aims to bridge the marketing practices of both countries, combining the strategic approach of the Portuguese market with the dynamic, risk-taking nature of the Brazilian advertising sector.
Pinhel, who has previously managed accounts for companies such as Sonae, currently resides between the two countries and is pursuing an MBA at the University of São Paulo. He identified a significant cultural difference in how businesses approach marketing, noting that Portuguese companies often exhibit a strong aversion to risk and failure. In contrast, he describes the Brazilian market as more advanced and dynamic, characterized by a closer, more personal approach to client relationships.
The primary objective of VRTX is to encourage Portuguese firms to adopt a more experimental mindset. Pinhel stated that he intends to foster a culture where testing new strategies is encouraged, aiming to elevate the standard of agency-client partnerships in Portugal. Furthermore, the agency emphasizes a focus on transparency and measurable results, prioritizing objective-driven outcomes over client vanity or caprice.
VRTX is currently focusing its operations on the wellness sector, a market that is experiencing growth in both nations. The agency intends to facilitate market entry for Brazilian companies looking to expand into Portugal, and conversely, assist Portuguese businesses seeking to establish a presence in Brazil. The agency also provides services to professionals and businesses within the health and wellness industry, including psychologists, surgeons, and aesthetic clinics.
