A tragic discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon in Maloney Gardens, Trinidad, as an elderly woman was found dead in her home. The deceased, identified as 79-year-old Hester Richards, was discovered unresponsive by her son, who promptly alerted the authorities. The son, who had last seen his mother earlier that day before leaving for work, relayed that she had been complaining of leg pain.
Upon arrival, the police noticed injuries on Ms. Richards’ forehead and swelling on parts of her body, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. Despite this, no signs of forced entry into the home were found, adding a layer of complexity to the unfolding investigation.
Notably, Richards had a history of medical conditions, including seizures, for which she was receiving treatment. This information could potentially be significant as officers work to piece together the events leading up to her death.
A district medical officer visited the scene and pronounced Richards dead. As the investigation continues, an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death, offering hope for more clarity in this unfortunate incident.
