An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 70-year-old man, Vishnu Maharaj, whose body was found in an abandoned building within the compound of St Joseph Secondary School. Maharaj was reportedly homeless. An unknown individual alerted a friend of the deceased about the incident, who then reported it to the St Joseph Police Station. Upon arrival at the scene, the man found Maharaj’s lifeless body on the upper floor of the building with a wound to the head. Officers from the St Joseph Police Station, along with Inspector Narcis from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Two, are currently handling the case. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
