The recent heat waves that have characterised much of the summer have not, so far, jeopardised the supply of potable water in Andorra’s parishes. Municipal water corporations acknowledge that higher temperatures typically lead to greater demand, but they say current reserves remain sufficient.

– **Encamp:** Summer water consumption rose by 14.3 % compared with the same period in previous years.
– **La Massana:** Current usage stands 17 % higher than the parish’s annual average consumption.

Despite the upward trend in demand, some parishes have maintained full reservoir levels. The parish of Canillo, for example, reports that its water storage facilities are at 100 % capacity. Conversely, the mayor of Escaldes‑Engordany, **Capesa**, has warned that the existing water extraction regulations may be “unsustainable” if consumption continues to climb.

The municipal authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have indicated that, for the moment, the water supply network can accommodate the increased summer usage without compromising service reliability.
