Eiffel Tower women staff told to ‘make themselves invisible’ for BAPS team visit, Hindu group clarifies – Telegraph India

**Women staff at Paris’s Eiffel Tower reportedly told to “make themselves invisible” during BAPS visit, Hindu group clarifies**

A report published by *Telegraph India* on 9 September 2024 claimed that female employees at the Eiffel Tower were instructed to “make themselves invisible” while a team from the Hindu organization BAPS (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) visited the landmark.

The article quoted unnamed sources who said the directive was given to the women staff in order to minimise their visibility during the visit. The report also noted that the instruction was allegedly part of a broader effort to keep the BAPS team’s presence discreet.

In response, representatives of the BAPS organization issued a statement clarifying that the claim was a misunderstanding. According to the statement, BAPS has no policy of instructing staff to conceal themselves and the organization “does not condone or support any form of discrimination or harassment against employees.” The statement further explained that the incident was a misinterpretation of a routine security protocol that was applied to all visitors, regardless of gender.

The Eiffel Tower’s management has not yet issued an official comment on the matter. The incident has drawn attention to the treatment of female staff in high‑profile tourist sites and has prompted calls for clearer guidelines on staff conduct during special visits.
