East Gates remains open as Certified Scoop restructures its operations

Certified Scoop has permanently closed its South Park branch, according to an announcement by owner and entrepreneur Certified Sampson on Friday, September 4.

Sampson confirmed the closure in a social media post, while assuring customers that the Certified Scoop branch at East Gates remains open and will continue serving the public.

Rather than presenting the closure as the end of the business, Sampson described it as part of the realities of entrepreneurship and encouraged other business owners to remain resilient when facing setbacks.

“This is entrepreneurship, this is business. Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward,” he said.

Sampson also directed a message to current and aspiring young entrepreneurs, saying he hoped his experience could serve as an example of maintaining a fighting spirit and refusing to give up.

He added a message of faith, urging followers to “put God first always.”

While the South Park storefront has now permanently closed, Certified Scoop is not disappearing from the area entirely. Sampson said the company’s ice cream truck will continue operating and appearing at different locations, while customers can also visit the East Gates branch.

No specific reason for the South Park closure was disclosed in the announcement.

The development marks a change for the Certified Scoop business, but Sampson’s message suggests the focus is now on continuing operations through East Gates and the mobile ice cream truck rather than stepping away from the venture altogether.
