Driver and passenger robbed during routine tyre change on Beetham Highway

A routine stop turned into a horrifying ordeal for two men on the Beetham Highway in the early hours of Monday, April 6th, 2026. According to police reports, the driver of a silver Nissan B-14 and his passenger were travelling eastward when they were compelled to pull over due to a flat tyre around 5:30 a.m.

While in the middle of repairs, they were ambushed by two men who announced a robbery. The driver was relieved of his wallet, which contained multiple bank cards, identification documents, and cash. His cellphone was also taken during the robbery. The passenger too was robbed, losing his cash to the thieves.

Post robbery, the suspects made a hasty retreat on foot into the Beetham Gardens area. The police are currently investigating the incident and are in the process of identifying the suspects involved.
