Dr. Rowley of Trinidad and Tobago recently took to social media to address the nation, commenting on the US armada’s approach towards their region. The government is being tested, he says, and it remains to be seen whether the leaders will uphold the nation and CARICOM’s commitment to defend the region as a ‘Zone of Peace’. He criticized the Opposition for undermining diplomatic initiatives aimed at avoiding regime change through force. The Opposition dismissed diplomatic initiatives with various countries and supported the implantation of President Guaido by the US, Canada, and Europe. They also supported US sanctions against TT Ministers, including the Prime Minister and Minister of Energy. Dr. Rowley concludes by posing the question to the people of Trinidad and Tobago; whether it is better to follow the unpatriotic Opposition folly, or to maintain sovereignty and diplomatic self-interest.
