**Sri Lankan Batsman Sonal Dinusha Records Fourth Consecutive Fifty‑Plus Score Against India**
*Colombo, Sri Lanka – 27 August 2026* – Sri Lanka’s top‑order batsman Sonal Dinusha became the latest player to join an exclusive group of cricketers after posting his fourth successive fifty‑plus score in a two‑match Test series against India.
During the final day of the second Test at Colombo, Dinusha added an unbeaten 55 runs to a partnership of 46 with Keshara Nuwantha, helping Sri Lanka finish the first session at 329/6. The pair’s stand left the team with a 116‑run lead. Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka had been 229/6, with Dinusha unbeaten on 7.
Dinusha’s series of scores includes a double‑hundred (103) in the first innings of the second Test, as well as a century (100) and an 84‑run knock in the first Test. By achieving fifty‑plus scores in each of the four innings of the series, he matches the feats of former Sri Lankan greats Kumar Sangakkara and Dimuth Karunaratne, who previously recorded similar runs in all four innings of a two‑match series.
He is the second batsman to accomplish the feat against India, following Zimbabwe legend Andy Flower, who posted scores of 183*, 70, 55 and 232* during Zimbabwe’s 2000 tour of India. Dinusha also joins a select list of players—Douglas Jardine (England, 1932‑34), Everton Weekes (West Indies, 1948), Clyde Walcott (West Indies, 1948) and Ken Barrington (England, 1959)—who have recorded fifty‑plus scores in each of their first four Test innings against India.
The performances came as Sri Lanka sought to secure a draw in the series‑deciding match. The match’s outcome and the final series result have not yet been announced.
