Dinamikusan fejlődnek a magyar–egyiptomi kapcsolatok

In a Facebook post, Vitézy Dávid, a member of the Hungarian Parliament, announced that the Hungarian government had reached an agreement with Egypt regarding the delivery of railway cars. The talks were led by Prime Minister Péter and involved Egyptian President Abd el‑Fattah el‑Sisi and his ministers. The key issue was the halt in the shipment of railway cars that had been ordered by Egypt. After the Dunakeszi Vehicle Repair Plant (MÁV) had repaired 31 of the cars that had already been delivered, the parties agreed that the remaining 44 cars would be manufactured and delivered by the Hungarian side at the Dunakeszi plant. The agreement also covers the warranty repairs of the 31 cars already in hand, as well as the financial and loan arrangements that will be settled in a manner acceptable to both sides. Vitézy said the deal resolves a complex and risky transaction that had been inherited from the previous government. “In less than six months we have managed to solve a problem that posed significant financial, diplomatic and operational risks for the Hungarian rail system,” he wrote. He added that the negotiations took place in Cairo, Berlin, and Budapest, and that he had met with Egyptian Minister Kamel al‑Wazir in Budapest to finalize the terms. The post also mentioned that the preparation for the production of the 44 additional railway cars would begin immediately. In addition to the rail project, the parties discussed future economic cooperation in transportation, energy, water, and wastewater treatment.
