Digitaal wettenplatform Wetten.sr in gebruik genomen

Suriname inaugurated its digital laws platform, Wetten.sr, in a ceremony held in the capital. The event was attended by President Jennifer Geerlings‑Simons and representatives from a range of sectors. Wetten.sr is an initiative of Dutch‑based notary Mr. Aniel Autar. The platform makes Surinamese legislation available online at no cost, providing free digital access to statutes, regulations and other legal texts. Management and ongoing development of the site will be handled by the e‑Government department. During the opening, President Simons highlighted the importance of accessible legislation for the country’s democratic rule of law, legal certainty and economic development. She emphasized that a transparent legal framework is essential for fostering trust and encouraging investment in Suriname.
