Late on the evening of August 11th, 2025, a traumatic event unfolded on Dengue Street, St James. A man and woman, aged 42 and 36 respectively, found themselves under fire when they attempted to collect a $3,000 debt. The debtor, known to the victims, let loose a barrage of obscenities before escalating the situation dramatically, firing multiple shots towards the couple. The victims fled in their silver Nissan, the suspect hot on their heels, shooting as they made their desperate getaway through the streets of St James. The vehicle, riddled with bullet holes, was later discovered at the Woodbrook Police Station. The couple sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention. Officers from St James CID, WDTF, and CSI found fourteen 9mm spent shells and bullet fragments at the scene. Police are still searching for the suspect as investigations continue.
