Death Toll Climbs to 104 Amid Ongoing Rescue Efforts Following Flash Floods

As of July 7, 2025, the death toll from the devastating flooding has reached 104, with a significant number of children among the victims. The tragedy unfolded following severe rainfall, which brought approximately 12 inches of precipitation overnight on July 4, causing the Guadalupe River to surge dramatically by 26 feet in less than an hour. The largest impact was seen in Kerr County, where 84 fatalities have been confirmed, including 28 children from the Camp Mystic area. The camp has reported 27 deaths, and as of the latest updates, 11 individuals, including 10 girls and a counselor, remain missing. In total, at least 41 people across the state are unaccounted for, reflecting the widespread devastation caused by the flash floods. The situation remains critical as rescue efforts continue and authorities work to assess the full extent of the disaster.
