Deadly SUV-Pedestrian Collision on Maloney Highway

A fatal accident involving an SUV occurred on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Maloney late Saturday night. Officers from the Maloney Police Station were called to the scene around 11:55 p.m. on August 9th following a report of a pedestrian accident. The driver, a 44-year-old man from Tobago, was traveling west in a black Honda Vezel when two men in dark clothing ran onto the highway. The vehicle struck both pedestrians, resulting in the death of one man at the scene, who is yet to be identified. The other pedestrian, named Saleem Mohammed, was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The deceased was pronounced dead on the scene by the DMO, and his body was subsequently removed. The involved vehicle was taken to the Maloney Police Station.
