Officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) have set a deadline until 4 PM today to determine the fate of a dentist detained last week. The dentist is suspected of having accepted a ransom related to the kidnapping case of Jankie Satie Karim. In a related development, a 21-year-old woman from Matura, identified as Leandro Mohansingh, was charged over the weekend with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, false imprisonment, and ransom negotiation. Karim, a mother, was reported missing after her abduction on July 13, but was later discovered alive, albeit traumatized, in an abandoned beach house along Toco Main Road in Rampanalgas.
