In a shocking incident, 39-year-old Shandon Arjoon was fatally shot near a construction site on Oropouche Main Road, South Oropouche, around 11:20 a.m. Arjoon, a resident of Mon Desir Road, was standing near the site when an unidentified gunman approached and opened fire. Despite Arjoon’s attempt to escape, he was hit and collapsed. The gunman, described as a slim-built man with a dark brown complexion and long rasta hairstyle, was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve jersey, black jeans, and a knapsack strapped across his chest. He fled on foot, escaping along a nearby connector road heading east. The incident, believed to be linked to a land dispute, has sent shockwaves through the South Oropouche community, who are still reeling from the audacious daylight murder.
