Andrej Danko, the leader of Slovakia’s Slovak National Party (SNS), has urged President Petr Pellegrini to replace Environment Minister Filip Kuffa with a new appointee. In a statement released on Thursday, Danko criticized the president’s recent appointment of Petr Kmeč as Slovakia’s ambassador to Italy, noting that Kmeč is also facing accusations. “It does not seem fair that the president appointed Petr Kmeč to the position of ambassador to Italy while he is also accused,” Danko said. He added that the president should either “immediately replace Kuffa as minister or remove Kmeč.” The statement will be updated as further information becomes available.
