**Young Woman Killed in Electric‑Scooter Collision in Whitehorse**
*Whitehorse, Yukon – 1 August 2026* – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Whitehorse responded to a report of a traffic collision involving an electric scooter and a sport‑utility vehicle (SUV) at the intersection of Lazulite Drive and Garnet Crescent at approximately 19:11 on 1 August 2026. Emergency medical services and the City of Whitehorse Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene.
According to the RCMP, the collision resulted in the death of a young woman identified as Aria Tripp. Authorities have not released further details regarding her age, the circumstances of the crash, or the condition of the driver of the SUV. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the RCMP has asked anyone with information to contact the department.
No additional injuries were reported. The intersection was closed for a period of time while emergency responders attended to the scene and conducted preliminary investigations.
