Cummings Defends Family-Linked HDC Contracts

Opposition Senator Foster Cummings, General Secretary of the People’s National Movement (PNM), has confirmed that all Housing Development Corporation (HDC) contracts connected to his family were legally executed and in accordance with standard procedures. This follows the release of documents revealing that his wife and daughter’s companies, Pical Services Limited and Rivulet Investment Group Limited, received contract extensions worth $15.6 million for waste disposal services before the 2025 General Elections. Cummings emphasized that these companies have been servicing the government long before his ministerial tenure. He added that the contract extensions were for ongoing services, not new projects, and were supervised by the HDC board and management. Both Pical Services and Rivulet Investment Group have been engaged with the state in various capacities since at least 2016 and 2019, respectively.
