Couva Police Constable Robbed at Gunpoint During Tire Change

A police constable was robbed at gunpoint in Couva while changing a flat tire early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. near the Indian Trail Flyover. The officer was approached by two men in a white wagon, with one brandishing a firearm. They demanded cash and stole a Samsung A71 cellphone, black JBL headphones, and a G-Shock watch before escaping. The suspects were described as slim-built African descent males, around 5’11″ tall, with one wearing a black hoodie and the other in a red T-shirt. In a separate incident, a TTDF Lance Corporal reported a break-in at his vehicle while parked at the Woodford Lodge recreational grounds. Upon returning, he discovered a smashed rear window and missing items including a camouflage jacket, pants, and an HP monitor. Investigations are ongoing for both cases.
