**Washington Boosts Logistics for Senegal’s National Gendarmerie**

*Dakar, Senegal – 28 August 2026* – The United States delivered a substantial shipment of vehicles and spare parts to the Senegalese National Gendarmerie on Friday, marking a new phase in bilateral security cooperation.

The hand‑over ceremony took place at the Samba Diéry Diallo quarter in Colobane. It was co‑chaired by the General de division who serves as the head of the National Gendarmerie and Director of Military Justice, alongside senior Senegalese officials. U.S. representatives participated in the event, underscoring the continued partnership between the two nations in the field of security and law‑enforcement capacity building.

According to the organizers, the equipment package includes a range of rolling stock—such as patrol vehicles and transport trucks—and the corresponding spare parts needed for their maintenance. The delivery is intended to strengthen the operational readiness of the Gendarmerie, which is responsible for maintaining public order, border security, and combating organized crime throughout Senegal.

The United States has previously provided training and material assistance to Senegalese security forces. This latest contribution aligns with broader U.S. efforts to support stability and counter‑terrorism initiatives in West Africa.
