Conocerán hoy coerción a acusado de planear atentado contra Abinader

The Office of Judicial Services for Permanent Attention in Duarte Province will hear a request for a coercive measure against Delvinson De la Cruz Sosa, 29, on Thursday afternoon. The prosecutor’s office has asked that the suspect be placed in preventive detention for three months while investigations into alleged threats against President Luis Abinader continue. De la Cruz Sosa was arrested during a raid in the Vista del Valle sector of San Francisco de Macorís. The arrest was part of a broader inquiry into possible threats to the head of state, reportedly linked to the upcoming Constitution Day celebrations on Friday, November 6. Prosecutors and security agents conducted operations at several locations in San Francisco de Macorís, including the suspect’s residence and a commercial establishment where he was said to work. Electronic equipment and other materials seized during the raids will be analyzed to determine their relevance to the case. The prosecutor’s office argues that a three‑month preventive detention is necessary while the investigation proceeds. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, when the court will consider arguments from both the prosecution and the defense before deciding on the coercive measure. No judgment has yet been issued, and the criminal liability of De la Cruz Sosa remains unestablished. The case is still under investigation, with authorities continuing to examine the evidence collected during the operations.
