Congo – Diplomatie sportive : un accord de coopération est signé entre Ewawa Plus et l’Ambassade du Cameroun à Brazzaville

**Brazzaville – A sports‑diplomacy agreement was signed between Ewawa Plus and the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in the Republic of Congo.**

The two parties concluded a protocol of cooperation in Brazzaville that sets out a framework for collaboration on sports diplomacy, the mobility of sporting delegations, diaspora involvement and the promotion of people‑to‑people contacts through basketball.

According to the announcement, the agreement aims to use basketball as a tool for dialogue and cooperation, fostering interactions among athletes, young people, institutions, entrepreneurs and community groups. The partnership is intended to strengthen ties between the Republic of Congo and Cameroon and to support the broader network of nations that may join the Ewawa Plus circuit.

The protocol also seeks to facilitate the internationalisation of the Ewawa Plus basketball circuit by easing the reception and movement of delegations. In particular, the cooperation is expected to assist in preparing an upcoming Ewawa Plus event in Douala, Cameroon, building on the momentum generated in Brazzaville.

Officials noted that the initiative aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the regional integration agenda of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), and the development priorities of the Republic of Congo.

Ewawa Plus describes itself as an international basketball circuit that connects former players, youth and decision‑makers across Africa. The term “Ewawa” means “elder” or “retired” in Lingala, while “Plus” is intended to signify the added experience and value that veteran players bring to the sport.

The signing ceremony was reported by *Les Échos du Congo‑Brazzaville* and included photographic coverage by DR. No further details on the signatories or the exact date of the agreement were provided.
