Police are searching for the main suspect in the murder of 22-year-old Candice Honore, whose dismembered body was found stuffed inside a suitcase and dumped in a pond in Sangre Grande.

The suspect believed to be Honore’s boyfriend has gone into hiding following the gruesome discovery, which was made on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, by members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team along Vega De Oropouche Road.Investigators revealed that the suspect allegedly borrowed a suitcase from a neighbour shortly before Honore’s disappearance. That same suitcase is believed to have been used to conceal and dispose of her plastic-wrapped, chopped-up remains.Honore was first reported missing on July 1st. Police believe she was murdered shortly after, and that the suspect made calculated efforts to hide the crime.

The man remains on the run as officers intensify efforts to locate and arrest him.
