On September 10, 2026, Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Salman Ghani, directed all RDA directorates to perform their duties diligently and remain available around the clock to ensure timely responses to public issues within their jurisdictions.
During a meeting held in Rawalpindi, Ghani reviewed the performance of RDA officials and instructed officers to conduct daily field visits to private housing schemes and under‑construction structures. He also emphasized the need for officers to personally monitor the performance of field teams.
The commissioner called for the development of a comprehensive mechanism for continuous monitoring of field teams, with clear responsibility and accountability at every level. He warned that negligence, absence from the field, or failure to perform assigned duties would not be tolerated.
Ghani instructed officers to ensure strict compliance with approved plans, building regulations, and all applicable laws and rules. He stressed that the RDA’s regulatory, monitoring, and enforcement responsibilities must be carried out with professionalism, transparency, efficiency, and a strong sense of public responsibility.
These directives aim to strengthen the RDA’s service delivery and accountability to the residents of Rawalpindi.
