Romania’s Modern Retail Market Sees Slow Deliveries in 2026
According to a report by Colliers, Romania’s modern retail market has experienced a slowdown in deliveries in the first half of 2026. The market added approximately 80,000 square meters of new retail space during this period, compared to around 122,000 square meters in the same period last year.
As a result, the total stock of modern retail space in Romania has reached over 5.2 million square meters. Despite the slowdown in deliveries in 2026, Colliers notes that the pipeline for 2027 remains strong.
The report provides an overview of the performance of the real estate market in Romania, highlighting the current trends and outlook for the retail sector.
