CM’s aide reviews progress on projects relating to tourism sector

**Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tourism Development Projects Reviewed**

*Peshawar, 27 August 2026* – The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism, Malik Adeel Iqbal, chaired a meeting on Thursday to assess progress on tourism‑related development projects under the province’s Annual Development Programme (ADP).

The session, held in Peshawar, was attended by Secretary Tourism and Culture Saadat Hassan, Director General of the Culture and Tourism Authority Shahid Khan, and other senior officials from the tourism department.

Key points discussed included:

* **Project portfolio** – A total of 58 projects have been incorporated into the ADP, of which 26 are newly initiated. Eleven projects are being executed through a Public‑Private Partnership (PPP) model.
* **Financial and planning updates** – Participants received briefings on the financial status of the projects and were instructed to expedite the preparation of PC‑I (Project Concept‑Implementation) documents to avoid delays.
* **Quality and timelines** – The officials were directed to accelerate work on the projects while ensuring adherence to quality standards. Emphasis was placed on completing the Tourism Facilitation Centers before the upcoming tourist season.
* **Specific initiatives** – The chairlift project in the Galiyat region was highlighted for immediate commencement.

Iqbal stated that the timely completion of these initiatives and the promotion of tourism remain priorities for the provincial government. He added that efficient implementation would help unlock Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourism potential and deliver benefits to both residents and visitors.

The meeting concluded with a directive for all relevant authorities to finalize planning requirements promptly, ensuring that the development projects proceed without unnecessary setbacks.
