Claxton Bay Teen Critically Wounded in Stabbing Incident

A teenage student is battling for his life after being stabbed in Claxton Bay. The incident occurred on Hillcrest Drive around dawn on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. According to police, the victim and a female relative were at home when they heard a disturbance outside. 25-year-old Daniel Appoo, a resident of the same street, was reportedly throwing stones at their house. An argument broke out when the teen intervened, resulting in Appoo allegedly stabbing the student in the chest with a black-handled knife, before fleeing the scene. The injured teenager was quickly transported to the Couva Accident and Emergency Hospital and later moved to the San Fernando General Hospital for emergency surgery, where he is currently in critical condition.
