CJP Protest: 18 Delhi Metro Stations Shut Today, Key Hubs Affected

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) shut down 18 metro stations on July 25 in response to a protest by the CJP, affecting some of the busiest transit hubs in the capital. Commuters were caught off guard as stations including Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Supreme Court, and Khan Market were closed from early morning.

DMRC announced the closures to ensure commuter safety amid the protest, which drew crowds to central areas. The affected stations span multiple lines, forcing thousands of daily passengers to seek alternative routes or switch to other modes of transport.

Authorities have advised passengers to use nearby stations like Central Secretariat or Barakhamba Road where possible, and to plan extra travel time. Bus services and auto rickshaws saw a surge in demand as commuters scrambled to adjust.

The protest, led by the CJP, is part of a series of demonstrations calling for policy changes. While DMRC has not specified an exact reopening time, officials said stations will resume normal operations once the situation is assessed as safe.
