Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on Sunday at the age of 27. A representative for Crawford confirmed the death, stating that the family is requesting privacy during this time.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Gerber died at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. The cause of death has not been disclosed, and the medical examiner’s office is currently investigating the circumstances.
Born in California in 1999, Gerber was a model and entrepreneur. He began his fashion career at age 16, making his runway debut for Moschino. Throughout his career, he walked for major fashion houses including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. He also appeared in campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi, and Omega. In 2019, he signed with DNA Model Management and later transitioned into work as an investor and entrepreneur.
In recent years, Gerber was vocal about his experiences with mental health and substance use. He launched an initiative titled Mental Health Mondays and collaborated with A Sense of Home, a Los Angeles-based organization that supports young people aging out of the foster care system. His sister, model and actor Kaia Gerber, recently spoke about her brother’s decision to be open about his personal struggles, noting that he acted as a teacher for their family by choosing to be transparent about his experiences.
Following his death, the family has not released further details regarding the circumstances of the incident.
