Charlotte Street Robbery: Woman Loses $4,200 Gold Chains in Broad Daylight

A robbery incident occurred on Charlotte Street on the evening of April 10, 2026, when a 48-year-old woman was targeted while seated in her vehicle. The victim, parked near a local jewellery store in her Kia Sportage, experienced a sudden and aggressive theft as a man approached her and snatched two gold chains valued at approximately $4,200 from around her neck.

The suspect, who is described as being of African descent and standing around 6 feet 2 inches tall, was noted to have an unkempt hairstyle and was wearing a red jersey at the time of the incident. Witnesses reported that after the robbery, he fled on foot along Charlotte Street, heading towards Duke Street.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are currently seeking information from the public that could assist in identifying the suspect. This brazen act of theft has raised concerns among local residents who frequent the area, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance and safety measures.
