Hanif Benjamin, the former chairman of the Children’s Authority, has been charged with two sexual offences involving a minor. The allegations were brought to light earlier this month at the Brasso Police Station, prompting authorities to take immediate action. On Tuesday, Benjamin, accompanied by his attorney, visited the police station where he was detained. Following the charges filed against him late yesterday, he was transferred to the Couva Police Station and placed in a cell. Benjamin is scheduled to appear before a Couva Master’s Court today, where further proceedings will take place.
