A man aged 44, from Chaguanas, was arrested on a recent Saturday night following a police search at a local bar. The man was reportedly found in possession of an illegal firearm at Jolly’s Bar, located on Caroni Savannah Road. The arrest was prompted by other bar patrons who noticed what seemed to be a gun on the man and alerted the police. The police responded to the tip-off, conducted a search of the establishment and the people present, and found the suspect in possession of a Smith and Wesson pistol, along with a magazine loaded with four 9mm rounds. Following his arrest, the man was taken to Chaguanas Police Station and later charged with firearm and ammunition possession.
