CBL Launches Enhanced Credit Platform to Boost Business Lending

**Central Bank of Liberia Introduces Enhanced Collateral Registry System**

*Monrovia, Liberia – August 28, 2026* — The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) announced the launch of an Enhanced Collateral Registry System, a new platform designed to broaden access to credit for both businesses and individuals. According to the CBL, the system will allow a wider variety of assets to be used as security for loans, thereby strengthening the country’s secured lending market.

The initiative, reported by Stephen G. Fellajuah of *The New Dawn Liberia*, aims to improve the efficiency of credit assessment and reduce barriers that have traditionally limited borrowing opportunities. By expanding the range of acceptable collateral, the CBL expects to facilitate greater financial inclusion and support economic growth.

The Central Bank has not disclosed specific timelines for the system’s rollout or detailed operational procedures at this stage. Further information is anticipated as the platform moves toward implementation.
