A vehicle in the 1700‑block of South 1st Avenue in Maywood, Illinois, caught fire and exploded early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. in a parking lot just off the outbound lanes of Interstate 290. Video footage shows the car fully engulfed in flames before it detonated, and police officers can be seen blocking the area to secure the scene. The explosion caused significant damage to the surrounding property, and emergency responders arrived promptly to address the situation. No injuries have been reported at this time.
