Cameroon’s SNH Profit Plunges 41% as Core Oil Operations Stay in the Red

Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) reported a 41.3% drop in net profit for 2025, despite a slight increase in revenue. The company’s standalone financial statements reveal that its core operations remain loss-making, with overall profitability once again dependent on income from investments.

The weaker operating performance continued to weigh on results, signaling deeper challenges within the state-owned oil company. SNH, a key contributor to Cameroon’s national budget, has struggled to turn a profit from its primary business of oil and gas production.

While revenue edged higher, the decline in net profit raises concerns about the company’s financial health and its ability to support government spending. Analysts will be watching for any strategic shifts in SNH’s operations to address the persistent losses.
