In a gruesome discovery on Tuesday morning, a 27-year-old California man, identified as Jamal Stephen, was found shot to death in Ste. Madeleine. The police responded swiftly to reports of a man lying motionless along Petit Morne Phase Two shortly before 6:40 a.m. Upon their arrival, they found Stephen’s body riddled with multiple gunshot wounds to the face, head, chest, and upper back.
In the wake of this shocking incident, the District Medical Officer pronounced Stephen dead at the scene. The Crime Scene Investigators, who processed the area meticulously, were able to recover eight spent 9mm shell casings, three projectiles, and several other items of potential evidential value.
What makes the killing particularly chilling is the investigators’ belief that it may have been an execution-style killing. Adding a layer of complexity to the case, robbery has been promptly ruled out as a motive. Notably, Stephen was found with a large gold chain still around his neck.
As the investigation continues, the police are committed to uncovering the truth behind this horrifying incident. Despite the absence of an immediate motive, they remain undeterred in their pursuit of justice.
