CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, has approved a grant of US$200,000 to support the development of disaster-resilient housing across the Caribbean region. The funding is intended to improve construction and reconstruction practices in response to the frequent natural hazards faced by the area, including hurricanes, floods, landslides, and earthquakes.
The initiative aims to bolster the region’s capacity to withstand environmental threats by enhancing the structural integrity of residential buildings. This financial support is part of a broader effort to assist Caribbean nations in mitigating the impact of climate-related and geological disasters on local housing infrastructure.
