Cabo Verde: uma nova arquitetura funcional para a cooperação em tempos de austeridade

Cabo Verde Seeks New Functional Architecture for Cooperation Amidst Austerity

Cabo Verde is facing a significant challenge in its development cooperation efforts due to a substantial decline in Official Development Assistance (ODA). According to reports, ODA has suffered a nearly 30% decline over the past two years, marking the largest devastation to global cooperation in 30 years.

In response to this contraction, there is a need for a reconfiguration of the strategic alignment between the new government program and those of international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), and the African Development Bank (ADB). This reconfiguration is necessary to ensure effective cooperation and development in Cabo Verde amidst the current austerity measures.

As stated by Albertino Ramos, a new functional architecture for cooperation is required to address the challenges posed by the decline in ODA. This new approach aims to provide a more holistic and analytical alignment of strategies to support Cabo Verde’s development goals.
