Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has stated that the Cabinet will consider whether to disclose the investigative report into the deaths of former MP Lisa Morris-Julian and her two children. This comes amid sustained public and media interest. The report falls under Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander’s remit. President of the Fire Services Association, Keone Guy, insists that the report should be public to ensure transparency and restore public trust. He highlighted the Fire Service’s struggle due to the limited availability of appliances, while acknowledging increased funding. Lisa Morris-Julian and her children tragically died in a house fire in December 2024.
