Gaborone, Botswana – Minister of Minerals and Energy Ms Bogolo Kenewendo announced that Botswana is committed to strengthening its strategic partnership with Oman during a brief visit by Oman’s Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
The minister spoke at the Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) on September 17, noting that the two countries could unlock unprecedented opportunities for prosperity through continued dialogue and cooperation.
Kenewendo emphasized that the future of cooperation extends beyond the diamond industry to the entire mineral sector, including exploration and development of mineral resources.
She highlighted an agreement signed for co‑development of mineral resources, describing it as a vital economic partnership that would benefit Botswana’s local diamond industry.
Sultan Tarik was on a two‑day state visit to Botswana, invited by President Advocate Duma Boko, during which the discussions on expanding mineral cooperation took place.
